Hamilton player-manager Martin Canning is missing with a calf knock,
while Danny Redmond, Eamonn Brophy, Darren Lyon and Michael Devlin are
also out.
Recent signing Salva Chamorro is short of fitness and midfielder Darian MacKinnon is suspended.
Partick Thistle forward Steven Lawless completes a two-game for breaching betting rules last season.
Visiting manager Alan Archibald otherwise has a full squad from which to choose.
I was lucky enough to be at the thrilling match between the sides back in November at New Douglas Park that finished 3-3. Thistle were great that day, and Accies - who'd been doing well in the league, with Alex Neil in charge - left it late to scramble a point. Tony Andreu - who would follow Neil to Norwich City - came to the rescue with an injury time equaliser.
Accies sank like a stone after Neil's departure, only to muster a late rally as they steered clear of the play-off pile-up.
Partick Thistle were consistently inconsistent for all of last season. Drifting for several games at a time doing nothing much before suddenly exploding into life and producing big wins in unlikely places - a 4-0 victory away at high-flying Inverness the most memorable example.

"Staying up is our aim but for progression as a manager,
eighth or more and a cup run, that is what we are looking for. But it
will be tough, we have a tighter squad and Hearts coming into the league
makes it a lot tougher." |
A lot depends on the experience of Ryan Stevenson, and his swashbuckling forward play could be key. New captain Abdul Osman will need to be a tower of strength in the middle of the park.
But too often last season Thistle looked short on substance. The free-flowing style is great to watch when it's all going well - but the problem is it doesn't always flow freely. And there appears to be no Plan B.
As for Accies, the addition of Christian Nade will provide power up front. He faces competition for that position from Carlton Morris who's arrived on a six month loan from Norwich City. The likes of Michael McGovern, Ali Crawford and Ziggy Gordon will all be important.

"Everybody was writing us off last season before we came up
and a lot of people are writing us off again. We are used to that
position. We responded well last season and hopefully we do the same
again." |
Of course, we all predicted Accies would get relegated last season and they ended up making us all look very silly indeed.
These sides played each other five times last season and shared 18 goals. Partick Thistle had the edge, with two wins, while there were two draws and one win for Accies.
